Anxiety can be crippling. Trapping you inside a tense, trembling, amped-up body, only to feel barraged by racing thoughts, ruminating worry, and constant questions of
“why” or “what if”.
You may find yourself avoiding activities, avoiding people, with no idea how to stop.
Therapy Can Help I facilitate growth by developing skills to improve anxiety in your body (mindfulness, deep breathing, and progressive muscle relaxation) and your mind (reframing, radical acceptance, reality testing, and defusing). We pursue depth by giving time and space to adequately understand why you experience anxiety in the first place. Often symptoms of anxiety are your body’s way of pointing your attention to a greater problem in your life. These problems could include painful life experiences and relationships, trauma, and loss. I work with you to treat both the symptom and the cause. |
